IN RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE

Who We Are

The Triangle Club of Montgomery County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization which works in cooperation with local high schools to recognize students who excel in scholarship, sports and service. Each spring, at the Dannehower Award Banquet, the organization awards college scholarships to high school seniors nominated by their high school administrators.

The scholarships provided by The Triangle Club are partially–funded by an annual basketball tip-off tournament. Other award funding comes from generous contributions by local businesses and individuals.

The William J. Dannehower Award

Each Spring, high school administrators throughout Montgomery County, Pennsylvania nominate one senior from their respective districts to be considered for the William F. Dannehower Award. After careful consideration by a non-partial committee, three top high school “Senior Stars” are chosen to receive awards of $3,000, $2,000 or $1,000. There are also three specially designated awards of $500 given to runners up. All nominees receive an award of at least $250. The awards are presented at the prestigious Dannehower Banquet.

CELEBRATE SPORTSMANSHIP

Annual Tip Off Tournament

The scholarships provided by The Triangle Club are partially–funded by an annual basketball tournament, held in December at Montgomery County Community College. Every year, four area high school basketball teams are selected to participate in the Tip Off Tournament. The event last two nights and every team gets the opportunity to play twice.

The 2021 Tournament is on December 10 & 11. See the top of this page for details.

Join the Board

Founded in 1963 by community leaders and educators, the Triangle Club of Montgomery County has since awarded hundreds of college scholarships to outstanding students. An all-volunteer board of directors, comprised of local community and business leaders, continues to spearhead this effort.

We are always seeking new members who are interested in using their talents to assist with organization growth. If you are interested, please contact us at info@triangleclub.com.

Our website was developed with a generous donation from Mr. Joseph C. Romano, long time member, Ambler businessman and avid sportsman, prior to his passing in 2013.
